Controversial Critic VeryDarkMan Launches Solo Protest in Abuja Ahead of Nationwide Action

Controversial social media critic Martin Vincent Osei, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has taken to the streets of Abuja to protest against the ongoing hardship in Nigeria, days ahead of the planned August 1 nationwide demonstration.

In videos circulating on social media, VeryDarkMan is seen shirtless, accompanied by another man in blue. Both are standing on a black jeep and holding banners.

VeryDarkMan’s banner questions, “Emi lo kon…is it your turn to suffer us? Mr. President. Do we even have a future with you???”

His partner’s banner pleads, “Tinubu, We Have Learnt the Hard Way. Pity Us, Sir… We Are Suffering.” This solo protest by VeryDarkMan comes in defiance of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s warning that Abuja would not be available for the August 1 protest, which has been gaining momentum on social media. The FCT Police Command has also deployed 4,200 personnel to maintain order and prevent any potential disruptions.

VeryDarkMan’s protest has elicited a mixed response online. While some praised the peaceful nature of his demonstration and expressed hope that the August 1 protest would follow suit, others were skeptical about its effectiveness, doubting that it would pressure the government into action.
