The Qatar-based broadcaster identified the victim as Mohammad Salama, a photojournalist and cameraman, who died when a medical complex was hit. The strike killed 14 people in total, according to the network, which told AFP that Salama’s death had been confirmed.
Earlier in the month, four Al Jazeera employees and two freelancers were killed in an Israeli airstrike near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, a tragedy that drew widespread criticism.
Gaza’s Civil Defence spokesperson, Mahmud Bassal, also reported that the latest attack’s death toll stood at 14, including journalists. He said an Israeli explosive drone struck a building at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, and a subsequent airstrike hit as wounded people were being evacuated.
