The National Sports Commission (NSC) has dismissed rumors of unpaid bonuses to the Super Falcons, clarifying that all pending payments were settled before the team’s final match against Morocco.

Speaking on Arise TV on Friday, NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade confirmed, “I can state with authority that all bonuses have been paid. I spoke with Ajibade yesterday, as well as with the NFF, and everyone is aligned.”

Olopade noted that one or two players might not have received their payments due to banking delays involving the Central Bank of Nigeria. However, he assured that the President’s pledge to the team would be honored.

He also revealed that the NSC is collaborating with the Minister of Works and Housing and the Renewed Hope Housing Initiative to expedite the delivery of houses promised to the team.

“The NSC takes athlete remuneration and welfare seriously,” Olopade emphasized, adding that all outstanding matters would soon be resolved.

His remarks addressed concerns recently raised by Rasheedat Ajibade about the $100,000 reward for winning the 2024 WAFCON. In an earlier interview, Ajibade stated that neither the promised reward nor the match bonuses had been received, noting that the payments were still “a work in progress.”
