Dangote Group Plc has pledged full support and compensation for Mrs. Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Ijeoma “Phyna” Otabor, who was injured in a recent accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
According to PUNCH Online, the incident occurred last week along the Auchi axis, leading to heavy traffic before emergency responders and security officials arrived. Mrs. Otabor is currently receiving treatment at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
In a statement on Thursday, the company said that senior officials from Dangote Cement Plc and its insurance team immediately visited the accident scene, liaised with law enforcement, and met with the victim and her family at the hospital.
Dangote Group stressed its commitment to the victim’s welfare, promising full medical care, appropriate compensation, and ongoing support, in line with its welfare policy.
“Our thoughts remain with Mrs. Ruth Otabor and her loved ones, and we wish her a speedy recovery,” the statement read.
The company also confirmed it is cooperating with relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation of the accident, reaffirming its dedication to the safety of all road users.
