The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun registration for ad-hoc staff who will participate in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.
The application process opened on Monday, September 15, and will close on October 5, 2025. INEC made the announcement in a notice shared on its official X handle.
According to the commission, the recruitment portal (INECPRES) is for eligible applicants seeking positions such as Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs), and RAC Managers for the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra.
Applicants must be residents of Anambra, Delta, Enugu, or Imo states, except for RATECHs, who must be INEC ICT staff. To qualify, candidates must not belong to a political party or have shown public support for any candidate or party.
SPOs will be selected from the federal public and civil service, as well as MDAs within certain grade levels. POs and APOs will include serving or recently discharged NYSC members, INEC staff, and eligible federal tertiary institution students. RAC Managers, on the other hand, will typically be drawn from heads or staff of schools hosting the registration centers.
INEC explained that RATECH roles are strictly reserved for ICT staff from its state offices or headquarters who are not already engaged in other election duties.
Interested candidates can apply online via the recruitment portal or through the dedicated Android app. INEC also advised applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria before submitting their applications.
This recruitment drive is part of INEC’s preparations for the off-cycle Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
